Merle Miller

Merle Miller, 90, formerly of Amity R.D. #1, died at 5:45 p.m. Tuesday, June 7, 2005, in Respi Center (West), Waynesburg, Pa.He was born January 27, 1915 in Rogersville, Pa. a son of Roy and Bertha Roberts Miller and resided in Amwell Twp. most of his married life. Mr. Miller had made his home with Melvin and Dorothy Cooke in Center Twp. from 2000 until moving to Waynesburg in 2003.He was employed by Amwell Twp. as an equipment operator most of his working life until retiring in 1980 and was a self-employed dairy farmer. After retiring, he returned to work for Amwell Twp. as long as his health permitted.In 1940, he married Florence Gertrude Hatfield Miller who died on January 26, 1998. Surviving are one son, Roger M. Miller of Avondale, Az., a granddaughter Angela Franckowiak and 3 great grandchildren, Doug and Alex Callahan and Johnathan Franckowiak. Deceased is a sister, Helen Sprowls.He was the last of his immediate family.
