Megan Bird

Megan D. Bird, 30, of West Union, Pa died unexpectedly at 8:59 a.m. Thursday, September 18, 2014 in her home after a struggle with addiction. She was born on May 21, 1984 in Washington, Pa. a daughter of Donald Lee and Lynn Shriver Bird of West Union and had resided in the Greene County area most of her life. Ms. Bird was a 2002 graduate of West Greene High School and a 2007 graduate of Penn Commercial with an Associates Degree in Legal Office Administration. She enjoyed talking on the phone, fishing and hunting. Surviving In addition to her parents are a sister, Ashlee D. Bird, companion of Bruce Weyandt II of Greensburg, Pa; a nephew Cadyn J. Porter of West Union; her companion, Russell J. Roupe of Washington, Pa.; her lifelong best friend, Randi Drake of Trafford, Pa.; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Deceased is a sister, Jennifer L. Porter; maternal grandparents, Joel L. and Betty J. Shriver; paternal grandparents, Walter R. and Dora C. Bird; an uncle Dennie F. Shriver; a cousin, Jessica L. Ringer. Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday in the Rush Funeral Home, Inc. Rogersville, Pa. where services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 23, 2014 with Pastor Nellie Baker officiating. Interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family. The family suggest memorial contributions be made to the West Union Presbyterian Church, 122 West Union Station Rd., Sycamore, Pa., 15364.
