Mary Y. Wright, 82, of Waynesburg, Pa. died unexpectedly at 6:50 a.m Monday, January 21, 2008 in Rolling Meadows Nursing Home, Waynesburg, Pa after being seriously ill for the past week. She was born September 20, 1925 in Wayne Twp., Greene Co., Pa. a daughter of Robert Ernest and Elizabeth "Libby" Calvert Yeager and had resided in Greene and Washington counties all of her life. Mrs. Wright was a 1943 graduate of Waynesburg High School. She was a former member, pianist and Sunday school teacher at the Enon Baptist Church and had attended the Church of the Nazarene and the First Christian Church, both in Waynesburg. Mrs. Wright was a member of the Waynesburg Senior Citizens and enjoyed quilting, sewing, puzzle books, and listening to the Gaither Brothers gospel music and reading the Bible. She was employed as a clerk by the former Montgomery Ward Department store in Washington and was last employed in the housekeeping department at Waynesburg University prior to retiring in 1988. On October 23, 1946, she married Raynor Lloyd Wright who died on July 26, 1992. Surviving are one daughter, Virginia L., wife of Ricky Lynn of Oakwood, Ga.; one son, Kermit L., husband of Larina "Larrie" Wright of Rogersville, Pa.; several nieces and nephews. Deceased in addition to her husband are one son, Robert LaVerne Wright; one sister, Dorothy Yeager Chambers; two brothers, Edison and Harold Yeager and and her special friend, Dale Ealy. She was the last of her immediate family. Friends will be received 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and 12 p.m. until the time of services at 2 p.m. Thursday, January 24, 2008 in the Rush Funeral Home, Inc., Rogersville, Pa. with Rev. Thomas E. Fowler, Sr. officiating. Interment will follow in Enon Cemetery, Richhill Twp. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society or to the American Diabetes Association.
