Mary Montgomery

M. Elizabeth Montgomery, 90, of Claysville, Pa. R.D.#2 (East Finley Township), died at 6:45 p.m. Tuesday, April 15, 2003 in her home after being seriously ill for the past two months.She was born October 3, 1912 in West Finley Township, Washington County, Pa a daughter of Edward and Matilda Sprowls Jenkins.Mrs. Montogmery had been a resident of East Finley Township for the past 70 years.She was a member of the Roadside Chapel in East Finley Township (Pleasant Grove).Mrs. Montgomery enjoyed raising flowers and gardening and was known in the area for her quilt making and was a member of the Stoney Point Ladies Aid Society.On October 29, 1929 she married Blaine Carroll Montgomery who died July 21, 1989.Surviving are one daughter, Barbara Ann Laird and one son, James Ray Montgomery both of Claysville, Pa.; five grandchildren, Cathie, Jeffrey and Sam Laird, Trudy Montgomery Alexas and Doug Montgomery; ten great grandchildren.Deceased in addition to her husband are a son, Edward Carroll Montgomery who died in infancy; two sisters, Kathryn Jenkins McClain and Lucille Jenkins McCrerey; one half sister, Jean Wright Meyers; one half brother, James Wright.Mrs. Montgomery was the last of her immediate family The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Hospice Care, Inc., c/o The Washington Hospital, 150 Wilson Ave., Washington, Pa. 15301.
