Mary Mayne

Mary Evelyn Mayne, 74, of Washington and formerly of Taylorstown died at 4:15 a.m. Wednesday, March 29, 2006 in the Washington County Health Center following a brief illness.She was born September 29, 1931 in Aleppo Twp., Greene Co. Pa. a daughter of James Leroy "Lee" and Greta Pearl Welling Courtwright and had resided in the Taylorstown area from 1969 until moving to Washington in 1995.Mrs. Mayne formerly attended the Aleppo Brethren Church and attended Aleppo elementary schools and graduated from Center Twp. High School in 1948 at the age of 16She will be remembered for her constant smile and the care that she gave her family.Mrs. Mayne also enjoyed word search puzzles, entering sweepstakes and listening to country music radio.On October 9, 1954 she married Kenneth Dale Mayne who died July 27, 1981.Surviving are two sons, Larry (Clementine Edgar) Mayne of Washington and Steven Mayne with whom she shared her home as long as her health permitted; several nieces and nephews.Deceased in addition to her husband and parents are two brothers, Kenneth Carl and Lee Junior Courtwright; one sister, Peaches Eileen Courtwright.Mrs. Mayne was the last of her immediate family.The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer's Disease Association, 100 West Station Square Dr., Landmarks Bldg, Suite 500, Pittsburgh, Pa. 15219-1189.
