Mary Bland

Mary E. Tedrow Bland, 91, of Franklin Twp. (East View), Greene Co. Pa. went to be with the Lord at 9:36 a.m. Sunday, January 9, 2011 in the Southwest Regional Medical Center, Waynesburg, Pa. after being seriously ill since December.She was born March 27, 1919 in Aleppo Twp. Greene Co. Pa. a daughter of Seth Goodwin and Jessie Mine Staggers Tilton.Mrs. Bland was a former member of the Church of Christ in Cameron, W.Va. and attended the Holbrook Christian Church and the Throckmorton United Methodist Church as long as her health permitted.She had resided in the Holbrook and McCracken areas for several years prior to moving to East View in 1986.Mrs. Bland was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and a dear friend to many people.She was formerly married to the late Glenn Woodrow Tedrow and on September 5, 1964 she married Richard Elwood (John) Bland who died November 23, 1971.Surviving are two daughters, Helen Rife of Ambridge, Pa. and Patricia, wife of Henry White of Masontown, W.Va.; a daughter in law, Dorothy Henry Allman Tedrow of Mather; two step children, Larry, husband of Marsha Bland of Holbrook and Erma, wife of Robert Pfender of Shreveport, La.; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren; eight step grandchildren; 18 step great grandchildren; two step great great grandchildren.Deceased in addition to her parents, first and second husbands, is a son Glenn F. Tedrow; a son who died at birth; a step daughter, Linda M. Smith; two sisters, Mae Tilton and Grace Tennant..Mrs. Bland was the last of her immediate family.The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the charity of your choice.
