Mary Bissett

Mary Louise Bissett, 76, of Center Twp. Greene Co., PA, died at 5:40 Monday, December 8, 2008, in her home after a courageous battle with a cancer related illness for the past several months.Mrs. Bissett was born April 5, 1932 in Wind Ridge, Pa., a daughter of the late Orland Wilbert and Mary Margaret Baltzell Tennant and had resided in Richeyville for 46 years prior to returning to Greene County in June of 2001.She was a member of the Centerville United Methodist Church.Mrs. Bissett enjoyed traveling as long as her health permitted.She was a 1951 graduate of Waynesburg High School.Mrs. Bissett was last employed as a bundle girl for 14 years at the former Bobbie Brooks factory in Washington.On November 15, 1952 she married Hubert Donald Bissett who survives.Surviving in addition to her husband is a daughter, Pam, wife of Mike Swain of Tyrone, Ga.; two sons, Robert, husband of Kim Bissett of Perryopolis and David, husband of Lynn Bissett of Bolivar, TN.; one brother, William, husband of Mary Ann Tennant of Parma, Ohio; eight grandchildren; four great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and in-laws.Deceased in addition to her parents is a grandson, Christopher Shawn Bissett and one brother, Robert Tennant.The family suggests memorial contributions be made to either SouthernCare, Inc., 201 Johnson Rd., Suite 101, Houston, Pa. 15342 or the Centerville U.M. Church Building Fund, 823 Old National Pike Rd., Brownsville, Pa 15417.
