Martha J. Martin, 90, of Center Twp. Greene Co. Pa. died at 5:00 a.m. Thursday, March 8, 2007 in the Rolling Meadows Nursing Home, Waynesburg, Pa. after being in failing health for the past 18 months.She was born August 5, 1916 in Center Twp. Greene Co. a daughter of Ely Blaine and Goldie Agnes Carpenter Orndoff. and had resided in Center Twp. all her life.Mrs. Martin was a member and former secretary of the Rogersville United Methodist Church where she was also a member of the United Methodist Women.She was a 1934 graduate of Center Twp. High School.Mrs. Martin was employed as cook at the West Greene High School cafeteria for 10 years prior to retiring in 1981.She was a member of the P.S.E.R.S., the A.A.R.P., the Waynesburg and West Greene Senior Citizens and a 46 year member of the East Franklin Grange and was also a member of the Pomona, State and National Granges.Mrs. Martin was married on June 22, 1935 to Louis H. Martin who died November 19, 1987.Surviving is a son Thomas O. Martin with whom she shared her home; two grandsons, Brett Watson and Brad Martin; four great grandchildren, Amanda K. Garrett, Ryan and Sean Watson and Jessica Lynn Martin; one great great grandson, Mason Riley Braun.Deceased are a daughter, Sarah Marie Watson; a grandson, Brent Martin; six brothers, Howard and Floyd Orndoff who both died in infancy, W. Clarence, Blaine F., J. Walter and Ralph C. Orndoff.Mrs. Martin was the last of her immediate family.The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Rogersville U.M. Church, PO Box 315, Rogersville, Pa. 15359.The East Franklin Grange will conduct memorial services in the funeral home at 7:00 p.m. Monday.
