Margaret Stewart

Margaret H. Stewart, 92, of Waynesburg, Pa. and formerly of Nineveh, Pa. died at 2:15 a.m. Monday, September 20, 2004 in the Beverly Health Care Center, Waynesburg, Pa. following a lengthy illness.She was born October 11, 1911 in Center Township, Greene County, Pa. a daughter of Samuel and Irene Carter Harvey.Mrs. Stewart was a member of the Nineveh United Methodist Church where she formerly served as Sunday school teacher and had served as the board secretary.She had served several terms as the Morris Township (Greene County) Auditor and served on the Board of Elections for several years.Mrs. Stewart was a 1929 graduate of Center Township High School and was a member of the West Greene and Waynesburg Senior Citizens.She enjoyed all the out of doors, raising flowers and gardening and enjoyed Bible study.On July 1, 1929 she married C. Kenneth Stewart who died March 3, 1983.Surviving are a daughter, Margaret S., wife of James A. Jackson of Waynesburg, Pa.; two sons, Kenneth H., husband of Donna Carroll Stewart of Rockport, Texas and David L., husband of Christa Meindl Stewart of Hickory, N. C.; a brother, Samuel H. Harvey of Graysville; a sister, Jeanette Perkey of Muncie, IN.; 12 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren.Deceased in addition to her husband are a son, Carter W. Stewart; a grandson, David E. Stewart; three sisters, Evelyn McDonald, Josephine Kinney and Kay Harvey.The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the either the Nineveh U. M. Church or the American Heart Association.
