Mabel V. Sprowls Amos Kilgore, 100, of Claysville, Pa. died at 12:30 a.m. Monday, September 24, 2007 in the Breese Rest Home, Buffalo Twp., Washington Co., Pa.She was born December 28, 1906 in E. Finley Twp. (Enon), Pa. a daughter of Thomas Benton and Rebecca Jane Ealy Sprowls and had resided in Claysville most of her life.Mrs. Kilgore was the oldest living member of the First Baptist Church of Claysville and a member of the Rainbow Class. She was an active member of the Evening Star Chapter #187, O.E.S. in Claysville and the Claysville Mothers Club as long as her health permitted. She was a founding and charter member of the McGuffey Senior Citizen Center.Mrs. Kilgore was a former employee of Curtis Pharmacy and the former Claysville A P.Her first husband, John W. Amos died May 18, 1956 and she later married James S. Kilgore who died August 4, 1983.Surviving are two daughters, Mary Belle Amos Chess of Fairmont, W.Va. and Rebecca "Becki" Amos, wife of Nick Zullo of Prosperity, Pa.; one son, William, husband of Carolyn Amos of Abbot, Maine; one step daughter, Irene, wife of George Bryan of West Virginia; one sister, Ruth Stagg of Washington, Pa.; eight grandchildren, Michael, Phillip and Darlene Chess, Jeffrey Amos, Bobbi-Jo Amos Burdin, Beth Anne Amos Weymouth, Nick Jon Zullo and Cassandra Ann Zullo Georgetti; ten great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.Deceased in addition to her husbands are a daughter, Geraldine Rose Amos; two step daughters, Lillian and Dorothy Kilgore; one sister, Wilda Miller; four brothers, Clarence, Herschel, Earl and Wray Sprowls.
