Mabel R. Campbell, 92, formerly of New Freeport, Pa. died at 1:40 p.m. Monday, March 29, 2010 in the Rolling Meadows Nursing Home, Waynesburg, Pa. after being in failing health for the past several years but seriously ill for the past six weeks.She was born May 6, 1917 in Jollytown, Pa. a daughter of the late Dorsa Melvin and Mary Margaret Edgar Hennen and had resided in New Freeport area since 1947.Mrs. Campbell was a former member of the New Freeport Church of Christ but last attended the Sand Hill Church of Christ.She was a member of the New Freeport V.F.D. Auxiliary and enjoyed crocheting, knitting, and crafting in general.Mrs. Campbell was last employed as a cook in the West Greene High School cafeteria for approximately three years.On February 25, 1939 she married Paul Allen Campbell who died March 29, 1969.Surviving is a daughter, Judith, wife of Carroll Cumberledge of Hundred, W.Va.; a sister, Jean Roupe of Cochocton, Ohio; two grandchildren, Charles, husband of Paula Cumberledge of Hundred, W.Va. and David, husband of Kelley Cumberledge of Maumelle, Ark.; four great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.Deceased in addition to her parents and husband are two sisters, Helen Kimble and Vera Kathaleen Knight; two brothers, Paul and Stanley Hennen.
