M. Scott

Jean Scott, 84, of Claysville, Pa. died at 1:20 p.m. Sunday, August 30, 2009 in the Washington Hospital.She was born August 16, 1925 in West Finley Twp., Washington Co. Pa. a daughter of the late Wade Clarence and Fern Phillips Sprowls and had been a resident of the Claysville area since 1950.Mrs. Scott was a member of the Claysville United Methodist Church and attended Claysville High School.She was a former member of the Claysville V.F.D. Auxiliary.Mrs. Scott was employed at the former G.C. Murphy lunch counter in Washington, the Claysville Restaurant and was last employed as a waitress for over 15 years at the former Plaza Restaurant in Washington.On October 4, 1941 she married Donald Martin Scott, Sr. who died September 26, 2004.Surviving are one daughter, Kathy, wife of Robert McAnallen II of Prosperity; four sons, Donald M. Scott, Jr., husband of Carol Scott and William R., husband of Sharon Scott both of Washington, Gary L., husband of Melody Scott and Randy L. Scott both of Claysville; two half brothers, Ralph, husband of Betty Sprowls of Washington and Lloyd, husband of Judy Sprowls of Claysville; 15 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; 8 great great grandchildren; 2 step grandchildren; four step great grandchildren and 2 step great great grandchildren.Deceased in addition to her parents and husband are a great great granddaughter, Makayla Lynn Scott; a brother, James Robert Scott; a half sister, Betty Moore.The family suggest memorial contributions be made to either the Claysville United Methodist Church or the Claysville V.F.D.
