Louis Kobuchi

Louis A. Kobuchi, 69, of Meadowlands, Pa. died unexpectedly Thursday, November 6, 2008 in the Canonsburg General Hospital emergency room, Canonsburg, Pa. He was born February 6, 1939 in Meadowlands, Pa. a son of the late Louis and Julia Zipko Kobuchi and had been a resident of Meadowlands all his life. Mr. Kobuchi was a member and currently serving as a deacon of the Christian Bible Fellowship Church. He was a 1957 graduate of Chartiers High School (Chartiers-Houston), attended Waynesburg College(Waynesburg University) on a wrestling scholarship under Coach Murdock and later graduated from California State Teachers College (California University). Mr. Kobuchi was a Viet Nam War veteran where he served with the U.S. Army as a Sp 4 with Co. B 25th Medical Battalion and was a member of the All American U.S. Army Wrestling Team. He was employed by the Fort Cherry School District as a biology and earth science teacher for 33 years prior to retirement and was also the Fort Cherry High School Wrestling Coach for several years. Mr. Kobuchi was a member of the P.S.E.A., the N.R.A., the Pa. and National Trappers Associations and the Fur Takers of America. He enjoyed attending flea markets twice a week, fishing, hunting and trapping and had just checked his trap line prior to his death. Surviving are three children, Mark, husband of Stacy Kobuchi of Martins Ferry, Ohio; two daughters, Paula, wife of John Dano of Canonsburg, Pa. and Amy, wife of Michael Bradford of Bethel Park, Pa.; a brother, John, husband of Jean Kobuchi of Graysville, Pa.; two sisters, Lydia Kobuchi Kent of Valdosta, Ga. and Carmelina Kobuchi Riffle of Greensboro, Pa.; two grandchildren, John Anthony Dano and Zachary Michael Bradford; several nieces and nephews.
