Louis Jordan

Louis (Lou) A. Jordan, Jr., 74, of Aleppo, Pa. and formerly of Pittsburgh (Carrick) died at 8:10 p.m. Saturday, May 1, 2010 in his home after a seven month battle with a cancer related illness.He was born February 18, 1936 in Pittsburgh a son of the late Louis Albert and Grace Georgette Irvin Jordan and had been a resident of Aleppo since October of 1989.Mr. Jordan enjoyed Civil War history and attended the Gettysburg battle field on several occasions; he also enjoyed ceramics and gun collecting.He was a former salesman in the sporting goods industry in the Pittsburgh area and from 1989 until retiring in 2000, he and his wife owned and operated the Jordan's General Store in Aleppo, which the family still owns and operates.On October 25, 1958 he married Evelyn Ann Spratt who survives.Also surviving are a son, Louis A. Jordan, III of Punxsutawney; five daughters, Joi, wife of Scott Sotler of Aleppo; Diane, wife of Edward Mills of Pittsburgh; Teri, Gayle and Bonni Jordan all of Aleppo; eight grandchildren, Kristi Sotler Rohm, Ryan Sotler, Nicole, Bryan and Katie Mills, Jared Smith, Dallas and Max Cunningham; two sisters.Deceased in addition to his parents is a brother.At the request of the deceased there will be no public viewing and interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
