Leslie H. "Jim" Rucker, 77, of Struthers, Ohio died at 8:29 p.m. Monday, July 26, 2004 in the St. Elizabeth Hospital, Youngstown, Ohio after being in failing health for the past twelve months.He was born February 24, 1927 in Rock Cave, W.Va. a son of Leslie Hiram and Norma Ellen Smith Rucker and had resided in Ohio most of his adult life.Mr. Rucker was a member of the Bible Baptist Church in Campbell, Ohio.He was a veteran of World War II where he served as a private first class with 14th Major Port and 13th Traffic Regiment GP both in England and received the Army Occupation medal and the World War II Victory MedalMr. Rucker was a former employee of Myron Welding and Youngstown Florist in Youngstown, Ohio and was last employed by Youngstown Steel Door Co. as a welder for 30 years prior to retiring in 1987.On December 24, 1976 he married Wretha Marie "Beck" Martin Tedrow Rucker who died November 9, 1998.Surviving are four daughters, Ann Banks of Boardman, Ohio, Cheryl Streetcheck of Sheffield Lake, Ohio, Shelly Jones of Poland, Ohio and Leslie Dawn Shauffer of Youngstown, Ohio; two step sons, Kenneth Tedrow of Struthers, Ohio with whom he shared his home and Dennis Tedrow of Boardman, Ohio, a step daughter, Ruth Ann Maloney of Cincinnati, Ohio; one brother, Kenneth Rucker of Florida, two sisters, Hazel Gray of Austintown, Ohio and Erma Adkins of Maryland; 20 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.Deceased are a great grandson, Chandler Maloney; a brother, Paul Rucker; two sisters, Pearl Cotton and Lana Alkire.All services for Mr. Rucker will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the direction of the Rush Funeral Home, Inc. Rogersville, Pa.
