Lenna D. "Lenny" Patton, 63, of Waynesburg, Pa. died at 9:55 p.m. Thursday, March 9, 2006 in The Washington Hospital, Washington, Pa. after being in failing health for the past 6 years.He was born December 2, 1942 in Morgantown, W. Va. a son of the late Enid Frances Patton and had resided in the New Freeport area prior to moving to Wayne Twp. where he had resided for the past 10 years.Mr. Patton was a self- employed handyman and auto mechanic most of his working life and was also a former employee of Greene County Memorial Park and the Ames Construction company.He was a veteran of the Vietnam War where he served in the U.S. Army as a private first class with the 2nd Army Hq Hq Company at Ft. Meade, MD. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Bronze Star Medal and the Marksmanship Badge (Rifle).Mr. Patton was a life member of the V.F.W. Post 4793 of Waynesburg where he had served as Treasurer. Surviving are a daughter, Jennifer (William) Dixon Hutton of Westland, Pa.; two grandchildren, Ashleigh and Austin Hutton.Mr. Patton was the last of his immediate family. Military rites will be accorded at the funeral home by the American Legion Post 330, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4753 and Disabled American Veterans Post 123, all of Waynesburg.
