Laura B. Williamson, 88, of Waynesburg, Pa. and formerly of Graysville, Pa. died at 8:55 p.m. Thursday, April 1, 2004 in West Virginia Hospitals, Inc. (Ruby Memorial Hospital) Morgantown, W.Va. after a brief illness.She was born April 2, 1915 in Graysville a daughter of Lowrie and Nancy Chess Minton and had resided in the Graysville area all her life prior to moving to Waynesburg.Mrs. Williamson was a member of the Unity Presbyterian Church in Graysville where she had served as a Sunday school teacher and served on the youth council and a former elder and was the first elder of the church to attend the General Assembly in Boston.She was a 1933 graduate of Richhill Township High School.Mrs. Williamson was a member of the West Greene and Waynesburg Senior Citizens and the East Franklin Grange and was a former member of Harvey's Grange 1444.She was a reporter of Graysville area news for the Claysville Weekly Recorder and the Observer-Reporter for several years and enjoyed square dancing.Mrs. Williamson was an employee of the former Wolf Service Station in Graysville, Greene County Memorial Hospital and Romaine Scott, owner of the former Scott Funeral Home in Rogersville and had served for 12 years as the Gray Township tax collector.On June 12, 1934 she married Clay Dean Bruce who died August 31, 1976 and on September 23, 1982 she married Charles Joseph Williamson who died March 22, 1999.Surviving are a stepson, Kenneth Williamson of Lancaster, Pa.; a stepdaughter, H. Ruth Collins of Wiloughby, Ohio; one sister, Dora Martha Hamilton of Thomaston, Maine; three grandchildren, Deborah Penska, Winifred Pierson and Douglas E. Bruce; five great grandchildren, Ronnie Moore, Rachael and Daniel Pierson, Terra and Charlie McGowan; five step grandchildren; five step great grandchildren; caregiver Patricia King of Waynesburg.Deceased in addition to her husbands are a son, Clay Eugene Bruce who died March 16, 1992; two sisters, Anna Jane Regalis and Flora Blanche Jacobs; one brother, George William Thomas Minton.
