Viola Orndoff, 79, of Center Twp., Greene County, Pa. died at 3:35 p.m. Saturday, September 12, 2015 in the WVU Hospital (Ruby Memorial), Morgantown, W.VA. after being in failing health for the past three years.
She was born December 3, 1935 in Waynesburg, Pa. a daughter of the late Robert Benjamin Wiseman and Ruth Marie Gray Wiseman Blaker and had resided in Center Twp. since 1952.
Mrs. Orndoff attended the Willow Grove Independent Baptist Church.
She was a member of the West Greene Area Senior Citizens and a former member of the Center Twp. V.F.D. auxiliary.
Mrs. Orndoff valued her time with her family and grandchildren and enjoyed cooking and canning,
She was last employed as a cook at the West Greene High School for 20 years.
On May 3, 1952 she married Thomas Headley Orndoff who survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Stephanie, wife of John Bishop of Washington and Sandra K. Moore of Center Twp.; a daughter-in-law, Lisa Hixenbaugh Orndoff of Center Twp.; seven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; a brother, Charles, husband of Mary Wiseman of Canonsburg; a sister, Kay Durbin of West Alexander; several nieces and nephews.
Deceased in addition to her parents are a son, Charles E. (Chuck) Orndoff who died August 18, 2006; two brothers, Raymond G. and Donald E. Wiseman; her step-father, Clarence (Sam) Blaker.
Friends will be received from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the Rush Funeral Home, Inc. Rogersville, Pa. where funeral and committal services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 16, 2015 with Pastor Scott Blair officiating. Interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to your charity of choice.
