L. Marie Clutter Lyons, 97, of Rogersville and formerly of Waynesburg and Sycamore, Pa. died at 3:00 p.m. Monday, March 12, 2007 in Seabright's Personal Care Home, Rogersville, Pa. after a brief illness.She was born August 3, 1909 in Center Twp., Greene Co., Pa. a daughter of Irving ( I.J.) and Alice Webster Clutter. Mrs. Lyons was a member of Nineveh United Methodist Church and was a former member of Hopewell Methodist Church where she was a former church pianist and Sunday school teacher for several years and had continued playing the piano as long as her health permitted.She was a 1928 graduate of Center Twp. High School in Rogersville. Mrs. Lyons was a former member of the Waynesburg Senior Citizens and the Business and Professional Women in Waynesburg.She was a former employee of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as a typist for the State Treasurey Offices in Harrisburg and Pittsburgh for several years and the former Willard Hotel in Washington, D.C. She was last employed as a desk clerk at the former Fort Jackson Hotel in Waynesburg. Mrs. Lyons was formerly married to the late George Frank Lyons, Jr.Surviving are three nieces, Linda, wife of Ron Cathers of Hanover, Pa, Ruth, wife of Joe Patterson, of New Port Richey, Fl., and Marna, wife of Tom Henry of Sycamore, Pa.; four nephews, Ralph, husband of Caroldene Goodwin and Raymond, husband of Ruth Ann Goodwin, all of Center Twp.; Myron, husband of Carolyn Lightner of Harrisburg, Pa. and John, husband of Laurel Lightner of Boise, Idaho; several great and great great nieces and nephews. Deceased in addition to her former husband are two sisters, Anna Mae Goodwin and Margaret Lightner; one niece, Dorothy Goodwin Forshey HarveyShe was the last of her immediate family.
