Kathleen Shreve

April 3, 1941 — March 19, 2008

Kathleen A. "Kay" Shreve, 66, of New Freeport, Pa. died unexpectedly at 5:38 p.m. Tuesday, March 18, 2008 in The Washington Hospital following heart surgery. She was born April 3, 1941 in Massilon, Ohio a daughter of the late Cyril Leslie and Helen DeBattista Jamison and had resided in Cameron, W.Va. for several years prior to moving to New Freeport in 1988. Mrs. Shreve was a member of the Atwater (Ohio) Baptist Church and a 1969 graduate of Alliance (Ohio) High School. She was last employed as a substitute janitor for West Greene High School for seven years prior to retiring in 2002. Mrs. Shreve enjoyed playing bingo and yahtzee and going to yards sales and flea markets. On April 5, 1982, she married Ronald Darrell Shreve who survives. Surviving in addition to her husband are; two daughters, Terri Howes. Debbie (Howes), wife of Mac McPeak, both of Ravenna, Oh.; one son, Joseph, husband of Marie Howes of Newton Falls, Oh.; two step daughters, Rhonda (Shreve), wife of David Piper of New Freeport, Pa. and Anita Kay (Shreve), wife of Gerald Cunningham of Glen Dale, W.Va.; one half sister; seven half brothers; ten grandchildren; four step grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; three step great grandchildren; her ex-husband, William Howes of Ravenna, Oh.. Deceased in addition to her parents are her step-father, Alfred Carpelli; one great granddaughter, Faith Shaffer; and one son, Shawn Howes who died in infancy. All visitation and funeral services will be held in Ravenna, Ohio at Shorts Funeral Home.
