Katheryn Goulet

Katheryn D. Goulet, 88, of Wind Ridge, Pa. (Aleppo Twp.) and formerly of Irving and Dallas Texas, died at 8:25 a.m. Saturday, October 14, 2006 in the Rolling Meadows Nursing Home, Waynesburg, Pa. after being in failing health for the past year.She was born on November 22, 1917 in Bosqueville, McClellan County, Texas, a daughter of Josiah Augustus Cicero and Ida Elizabeth Slayden Kemble and had resided in Irving, Texas most her life prior to moving to Greene County, Pa. in July 2001 where she has made her home with her daughter and son-in-law, Gail M. and Wilbur L. Courtwright.Mrs. Goulet was a member of the First Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas, where she was a former pre-school Sunday school teacher for 44 years.She was a member of the Irving (Texas) Republican Women, and formerly served as a delegate to the Republican State Convention for several years. She was a member of the Irving Board of Realtors and was a member and past president of the Women's Council of Realtors in Irving, and a member of the Texas Real Estate Political Action Committee and was an election judge for the Republican Party in Oak Cliff (Dallas). Mrs. Goulet graduated from Waxahachie (Texas) High School at the age of 15 and attended Baylor University in Waco, Tx.She was formerly employed as a secretary by a Lt. Col. with the U.S. Army Air Corp. during World War II, which was one of the first occupants at the Pentagon, and was an executive secretary for General Motors in Dallas, and was last employed for 20 years as a real estate sales agent with Henry S. Miller Realtors in Irving, prior to retiring in 1999.On February 1, 1942 she married the late James Richard Sullivan and on November 15, 1951 she married Charles Sanders Goulet who died on May 5, 1981.Surviving are two daughters, Ruth Sullivan Huffman Bell of Blanchard, Ok. and Gail Goulet Courtwright of Wind Ridge, Pa; eight grandchildren, Roxanne Huffman of Grapevine, Texas, Rachel Huffman of Austin, Texas, Amon Huffman of San Diego, CA., Christina McKown Jones of McKinney Texas, Amanda Courtwright White of Colorado Springs, CO., Matthew Courtwright of Nashville, TN., Andrew Courtwright of Washington, Pa., Mary Katherine Courtwright of Pittsburgh, Pa.; six great grandchildren, Adam and Alex Gluch, Jaxxon, Lauren and Scot David Jones, Kylee Drew Courtwright; and several nieces and nephews.Deceased in addition to her husbands are a daughter, Dorothy Elizabeth Sullivan McKown Cassell who died on February 20, 2002; infant twin son and daughter, Daniel Lee and Nancy Lynn Sullivan; two brothers, Joseph Robert and Edwin Lee Kemble.Mrs. Goulet was the last of her immediate family.All local arrangements are under the direction of the Rush Funeral Home, Inc.
