Joy S. McCollum, 76, of Holbrook, Pa. died at 8:10 p.m. Wednesday, December 20, 2006 in The Washington Hospital, Washington, Pa. after suffering with cancer for the past two years.She was born November 11, 1930 in Center Twp., Greene Co., Pa. a daughter of the late Walter Ray and Nellie Grace Cumberledge Stockdale and had resided in Richhill Twp. and Delmont, Pa. prior to returning to Center Twp. in 1960.Mrs. McCollum was a former member of the Centennial Church of God where she had previously served as a Sunday School teacher and Deaconess. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Waynesburg.She was a 1948 graduate of Center Twp. High School. Mrs. McCollum was a loving wife and good mother who enjoyed sewing, wallpapering, upholstering.On November 13, 1948, she married Dennis E. McCollum who survives.Surviving in addition to her husband are two daughters, Marilyn, wife of Jim Facemire and Ruth Ann McCollum, both of Waynesburg, Pa.; one son, Phillip, husband of Myleen McCollum of Sycamore, Pa.; one God daughter, Sue, wife of Richard Ely of Sycamore, Pa.; three sisters, Faith, wife of Jack Gillogly of Holbrook, Pa., Hope Basore of Toledo, Oh. and Grace Isiminger of Washington, Pa.; two granddaughters, Carrie Sommers and Anna Pryce; two grandsons, Michael, husband of Carie Facemire and Seann McCollum; three great grandchildren.Deceased are five sisters, Blanche Brannon, Helen Singleton, Fern Stockdale, Marie Stewart and Pauline Wise; two brothers, Jack and Harry Stockdale.The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the First Church of the Nazarene, 115 Deerfield Lane, Waynesburg, Pa. 15370 or to your local chapter of the American Cancer Society.
