Josephine Bristor

Josephine C. Bristor, 96, of Waynesburg, Pa. and formerly of Richhill Twp. died at 4:55 a.m. Tuesday, February 8, 2011 in the Southwest Regional Medical Center, Waynesburg, after being in declining health for the past two years.She was born July 18, 1914 in Richhill Twp. Greene Co. Pa. a daughter of the late James Carlton and Linda Supler Campbell and had resided in Richhill Twp. all her life prior to moving to Waynesburg in 1995.Mrs. Bristor was a member of the former South Wheeling Baptist Church at Ryerson where she was a Sunday school superintendent and Sunday school teacher for several years.She was a volunteer with the Jacktown Fair Board for over 30 years and had served as secretary/treasurer from 1977 until 1995.Mrs. Bristor was a member and former master, secretary, lecturer and treasure of the former Aleppo Grange 2054, and a member of the Pomona, State and National Granges.She served as coordinator of Aleppo and Richhill Twp. food pantry from 1973 until 1995.Mrs. Bristor enjoyed crocheting lap blankets for the veterans as long as her health permitted.On June 24, 1946 she married W. Reid Bristor who died September 7, 1967.Surviving are a grandson, James K. Campbell; three sisters, Sarah Kupski and Betty, wife of Carl Boll both of St. Clairsville, Ohio and Jean Crowe of Berlin Center, Ohio; two step grandchildren, Mitchell Wishart and Kathryn Giovanelli; two great grandchildren; four step great grandchildren; four step great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.Deceased in addition to her parents and husband is a son, Lawrence J. Campbell who in 2005; a sister, Pauline Herman.The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Ryerson South Wheeling Baptist Church, 505 W. Roy Furman Hwy., Wind Ridge, Pa. 15380 or the Corner Cupboard Food Pantry, Waynesburg, Pa. 15370.
