Johney Gaines

Johney W. Gaines, 71, of Waynesburg, Pa. died at 8:25 a.m. Monday, August 20, 2007 in the Rolling Meadows Nursing Home, Waynesburg.He was born March 19, 1936 in Jackson Twp. Greene Co. Pa. a son of Archie Brady and Dorothy Louise Utt Gaines and had resided in Michigan for over 35 years prior to returning to Greene Co. in 1998.Mr. Gaines was self employed in denture manufacturing in Michigan for over 20 years and was last employed as a laboratory technician by Dr. Ingrid Toothman (Dentist) in Waynesburg prior to retiring in 2002 due to ill health.He was a peacetime veteran of the U.S. Army and the U.S. Navy.Surviving are three brothers, Raymond, husband of Jo-Lena Gaines and Edward, husband of Gladys Gaines of New Freeport, Pa., Robert, husband of Billy Jean Gaines of Spokane, WA.; three sisters, Irene, wife of Roger Mason of Madison, Ohio, Hatty Mae Roskelly of Castle Creek, N.Y., and Beulah, wife of Jay Leonard of Waynesburg; several nieces and nephews.Deceased are three brothers, Archie B. Gaines, Jr. who died in infancy, James Albert Gaines who died August 15, 2007, and Billy Joe Gaines.
