John L.H. "G" Waychoff, 75, of Center Twp., Greene Co., Pa. died unexpectedly in his home Tuesday, August 21, 2007.He was born April 11, 1932 in Franklin Twp., Greene Co., Pa. a son of Charles Ross and Pearl Victoria Waters Waychoff and had resided in Holbrook prior to moving to Center Twp., in 1974.Mr. Waychoff was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War where he served as a Cpl with the H S Co. 2nd Engineer Btn. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, Korean Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal.He was a self-employed farmer for several years and served as a Game Warden with the Pa. Game Commission for over 14 years and was actively involved with the Youth Hunter Training Programs in Greene County and was last employed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers as a certified underwater welder for over 15 years prior to retiring in 1969.Mr. Waychoff enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially with his fishing buddie Little Derek and time spent with his grandchildren and was a member of the North American Hunting Club.He was formerly married to Ramona Roberts Petros of Waynesburg and on April 23, 1980, he married Ruthanna Mae Daines Waychoff who survives.Also surviving are two sons, Mark, husband of Annemarie Waychoff of Oak Forest and John, husband of Kimberly Waychoff of Anchorage, AK; one daughter, Bonnie Sue Yoders of Holbrook; two step children, Lynn Henderson Stoneking, wife of Phillip Stoneking and Michael Smith of Oak Forest; three brothers, James, husband of Ruth Waychoff of Core, W.Va., Charles "Buddy" Waychoff of Pittsburgh, Pa and Charles "Butch" Waychoff of Oak Forest; two sisters, Dorothy Anderson and Emily Phillips, both of Waynesburg; ten grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.Deceased are one brother, Samuel Waychoff and two sisters, Juanita Bihun and Pearl Victoria "Dolly" Lang.
