John W. (Johnny Bill) Scott

John W. (Johnny Bill) Scott, 87, of Rogersville, Pa. died at 11:35 a.m. Thursday, July 9, 2015 in the Ewing Manor-West Personal Care Home in Rogersville.
He was born November 22, 1927 in Franklin Twp., Greene County, Pa. a son of the late Henry Austin and Pauline Evelyn Rose Scott and had resided in Rogersville since 1938.
Mr. Scott was a member of the former Rogersville Christian Church where he served as a superintendent and deacon.
He was a 1945 graduate of the former Center Twp. High School in Rogersville.
Mr. Scott was a veteran of World War II where he served with the U. S. Navy as a seaman first class and was awarded the World War II Victory Medal.
He was employed in pipeline construction prior to being employed by Equitable Gas Company for 32 years prior to retiring in 1985 as a station engineer in Rogersville.
Mr. Scott and his late wife enjoyed traveling the world, visiting Africa on one of their final vacations together.
He was a 58 year member of the Waynesburg Masonic Lodge 153 FAM where he formerly served as Past Worshipful Master and a former member of the Center Twp. V.F.D.
On March 13, 1958 he married Margaret (Peg) Lenora Campbell who died December 24, 2007.
Surviving are a brother, Thomas R., husband of Cecilia Scott of Uniontown; two sisters, Bonna Jo, wife of Paul Crouse of Holbrook and Patsy Ruth McHenry of West Chester; several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received from 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday in the Rush Funeral Home, Inc. Rogersville, Pa. where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 13, 2015 with Rev. Donald Wilson and Pastor Scott Blair co-officiating. Interment will follow in Rosemont Cemetery. The Waynesburg Masonic Lodge 153 FAM will conduct a memorial service in the funeral home at 6 p.m. Sunday.
