John Huffman

John A. Huffman, 93, of Waynesburg, Pa. died at 10:55 a.m. Tuesday, January 4, 2005 in Rolling Meadows Nursing Home, Waynesburg. He was born October 2, 1911 in Gilmore Twp. (Pine Bank) Greene Co., Pa. a. a son of John Edward and Della Headley Huffman.Mr. Huffman was a former resident of Zelienople (1950-1981) and Leesburg, Fla. from 1981 until returning to Greene County in 1996 and was a member of the Washington Street United Methodist Church, Waynesburg, Pa.He was formerly employed as constable in Zelienople and was last employed as a truck driver for Penn Power in Zelienople prior to retiring in 1976.Mr. Huffman was a former member of the Harmony Moose Lodge and was a Master Mason of Harmony Lodge #429 F. A. M.On October 1, 1938 he married Grace Alice Gump Huffman who died on December 29, 2000. Also surviving are a son, Robert A. Huffman of Barberton, Ohio; one daughter, Patricia Clayton Swan of Jefferson; four grandchildren, Robert, David and Joann Huffman and Belinda Swan; seven step great grandchildren.He was the last of his immediate family.The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Washington Street United Methodist Church, 152 South Washington Street, Waynesburg, Pa. 15370.
