Joann Yoders

JoAnn Yoders, 77, of Waynesburg, Pa. and formerly of Holbrook and Bluff, died at 2:00 a.m. Thursday, June 21, 2012 in UPMC (Mercy) Hospital, Pittsburgh, Pa. following health issues since hip surgery in February.She was born March 25, 1935 in Wind Ridge, Pa. a daughter of the late Wilbur Myron and Helen Virginia Morris Murphy.Mrs. Yoders had resided in the Holbrook, Pa. area for 41 years prior to moving to Jackson Twp. (Bluff) where she resided for approximately 3 years before moving to Waynesburg in 2006.She was a 1953 graduate of the former Richhill Twp. High School in Wind Ridge.Mrs. Yoders was last employed as a secretary by the West Greene School District at the Aleppo and Springhill-Freeport Elementary Schools for 16 years prior to retiring in June 1997.She enjoyed reading, puzzles and country music.Mrs. Yoders was a volunteer with the Greene County Genealogical Society, a member of the John Corbly Chapter of the D.A.R. and the P.S.E.A. and the N.E.A.On September 18, 1955 she married Richard Eugene Yoders who died October 31, 2003.Surviving are two sons, Richard L., husband of Cristy Yoders of Mifflintown and David E., husband of Mary Yoders of Mt.
