Jay M. Weight, 56, of Graysville, Pa. died at 9:35 a.m. Friday, February 3, 2012 in his home, in poor health for the past several years, his death was unexpected.He was born June 25, 1955 in New Eagle, Pa. a son of the late Ernest Alvin Weight, Sr. and Alice Marie Alldridge Weight.Mr. Weight had resided in the Coal Center and Monongahela areas prior to moving to Graysville in 1984.He was a member of the Bristoria Baptist Church.Mr. Weight enjoyed auto mechanics, woodcrafts, southern rock music and cooking.He was a veteran of the Viet Nam War, where he served as an E-4 with the U.S. Air Force and was a life member of the D.A.V.Mr. Weight was formerly employed as a tractor trailer operator, a deli worker at the former Food Depot in Waynesburg, was the head of maintenance for McDonald's restaurants in Saberton, W.Va. and Waynesburg prior to being employed by the Pa. Transformer in Canonsburg, where he retired in 2007 due to ill health.On May 28, 1976 he married Elizabeth Gray Galloway who survives.Also surviving are two sons, Jason, husband of Helen Marie Weight of Washington, Pa. and James Weight, companion of Courtney Gunnoe of Washington, Ga.; a daughter, Andrea, wife of David Miller of Valparaiso, IN.; five grandchildren, Vincent, Isabel and Brooklynn Weight, Sarah and Ashley Miller; two brothers, Ernest A. Weight, Jr., companion of Linda McAllister of Charleroi and John, husband of Julie Weight of Donora; three sisters, Ruthann, wife of Tony Contorno of Las Vegas, Nev., Sandra Lucas, companion of John Dowsey of Brownsville and Virginia Weight of Monongehala; several nieces and nephews.Deceased in addition to his parents are three brothers, Thomas Richard, Donald and Keith Weight.
