Janie Ealy

Janie M. Ealy, 71, formerly of East Finley Twp. died at 4:10 a.m. Tuesday, April 25, 2006 in The Washington Hospital after being in declining health the past few years.She was born September 29, 1934 in Morris Twp., Greene Co., Pa. a daughter of Charles Austin Miller, Sr. and Hazel "Peg" Toland Miller and had resided in East Finely Twp. most of her adult life.Mrs. Ealy was the Valedictorian of the class of 1953 from Waynesburg High School and attended one year at Canonsburg Hospital School of Nursing. She was a member of the Fairmount United Methodist Church where she was a member of the ladies aide of the church and United Methodist Women. She was a Sunday school teacher for the nursery class for over 25 years and assisted with vacation bible school.She was a former member and secretary of the East - West Finley, Parent Teacher Association.Mrs. Ealy also enjoyed flower arranging, baking, knitting, playing cards, homemade candy, arts and crafts, attending yard sales, collecting salt and pepper shakers and reading Harlequin romance novels.Mrs. Ealy was an employee of the former Murphy's store in Waynesburg and was last employed by Sears in the catalog sales department for 13 years prior to retiring in 1994.On September 17, 1954 she married Raymond Edward "Skip" Ealy who died January 14, 2006.Surviving are two daughters, Debra, wife of Don Studt of East Finley and Darla, wife of James Carter of Holbrook; one son, Rev. David, husband of Suzanne Miller Ealy of Slippery Rock, Pa.; five grandchildren, Michael and Kevin Studt, Kristy Studt Mattey, Tanya Carter Bowser, Keri Studt Woods; five great grandchildren, Carter, Essence and Vanessa Bowser, Azrael and Kaiden Studt; one sister, Ruth Denman of Graysville, Pa.Deceased in addition to her husband are one brother, Charles A.
