Janet E. Frye

Janet E. (Watson) Frye, age 81, of Waynesburg, PA, passed away on Thursday, February 1, 2018.

Born September 2, 1936 in Aleppo, PA, she is the daughter of James S. Watson and Nettie Grace (Woodruff) Watson.

Janet was a lifelong resident of Greene County. She was a graduate of Center Township High School and attended California State College. She pursued a career in clerical and bookkeeping functions. She worked for various companies, including BellSouth as a telephone operator, and eventually retired in 1984.

She loved people and was active in Harvey’s Aleppo Grange, Greene County Pomona Grange, Center Township V.F.D. Company Auxiliary and West Greene Senior Center, Graysville.

Janet was a member of Windy Gap Church of God and had attended Rogersville United Methodist Church for the past 30 years.

She is survived by her four children, Diane Buckland of Augusta, GA, James “Jim” (Angela) Frye of Camden-on-Gauley, WV, Darla (Daniel) Franz of Atlanta, GA and Jeff Frye of Holbrook, PA; two grandchildren, Krista (Sal) Frye Cataldo and Stephen Buckland; four sisters, Beulah Kennedy, Elizabeth Minear, Margaret “Peg” Knotts and Lois “Kitty” Harvey.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Ford Watson, Lynn Watson, John Watson and Jennings Watson; son-in-law, David Buckland.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, February 10, 2018, from 10 – 11 A.M. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 A.M. at Kesterson-Rush Funeral Home, LLC., 3275 W. Roy Furman Hwy, Rogersville, PA., 15359. Telephone: (724)-499-5181 with Pastor Bruce Judy, officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Rogersville United Methodist Church or Center Township Volunteer Fire Department.
