James Milliken

December 16, 1944 — February 5, 2008

James R. Milliken, 63, of Dilliner (Taylortown), Pa. died unexpectedly at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, February 5, 2008 in the emergency room at WVU Hospitals, Inc. (Ruby Memorial Hospital) Morgantown, W.Va. He was born December 16, 1944 in Waynesburg, Pa. a son of the late Lorraine Patsy and Dulcie Pearl Swisher Milliken and had resided in the Waynesburg and Carmichaels areas for several years prior to moving to Taylortown. Mr. Milliken was a former member and deacon of the First Christian Church in Waynesburg. He was a former employee of Bell's Wholesale and Mt. Morris Tire prior to his last employment as a mechanic at the former Beabout Sunoco in Waynesburg for over 20 years prior to being injured in a propane explosion at his home forcing his retirement in 1986. Mr. Milliken was well known in the area as an accomplished auto mechanic and enjoyed traveling and fishing. He was formerly married to Nancy Bird Moore of Carmichaels. Surviving are two sons, Michael, husband of Joy Milliken of Mather and Russell L. Milliken and his fiance', Castil McMasters of Clarksville; one daughter, Carol Tuggle of Carmichaels; one brother, John, husband of Marsha Milliken of Waynesburg; two sisters, Alma Scott of Washington and Patricia Dashofy of Canonsburg; 16 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; his companion of the past three years, Mary Jane Fox Phillips; her sons, Robert and Guy Phillips all of Taylortown. Deceased in addition to his parents are a brother, Dale Milliken; a sister, Janice Mattingly; a great grandson, Kolton Pierson.
