James L. Elliott, 53, of Rogersville, Pa. died unexpectedly Sunday, September 19, 2004 in the Greene County Memorial Hospital emergency room, Waynesburg, Pa.He was born June 23, 1951 in Pittsburgh, Pa. a son of the late Jimmy Lee Elliott and Dorothy Lippencott Elliott Kurrfis.Mr. Elliott had resided in the Graysville, Pa. area from 1977 until moving to Rogersville in 1993.He was a peacetime veteran of the U.S. Army where he served as a specialist fourth class with the HHB 41st FA GP and the 724th Military Policy Company in Waynesburg National Guard.He was a member of the Rogersville Christian Church.Mr. Elliott was employed most of his life as a heavy equipment operator and a former employee of Binnatto Contracting in McMurray, and was part of the clean-up crew after 9-11 in New York City for four months with Marcor Construction Company, and at the time of his death was employed as a truck driver by Lingis Manufacturing Company in Sycamore.On September 26, 1969 he married Donna Jean Cheek who survives.Also surviving are two sons, Steven J. Elliott of Rogersville and Garrett Lee Elliott of Prosperity, Pa.; four brothers, Steven C. Elliott and Timothy J. Clark both of Pittsburgh, Bernard Clark of Bloomfield, CO., and Donovan Clark of Indianapolis, IN.; three grandchildren, Allison Elliott, Jackie and Michael Drew; several nieces and nephews.Deceased in addition to his parents is a stepbrother, Doug Bush.
