Helena Bakey

Helena Virginia Bakey, 98, of Springhill Twp. (Mt. Carmel), Greene Co. Pa. died at 7:00 a.m. Monday, February 27, 2012 in the Southwest Regional Medical Center, Waynesburg, Pa. She was born August 19, 1913 in Springhill Twp. a daughter of the late Henry Wise and Lucinda Whipkey Isiminger.Mrs. Bakey had resided in the Dormont area from 1947 until returning to Greene County in 1982.She was a member of the Mt. Carmel Church of God where she was the former pianist and member of the W.C.S.C. of the church.Mrs. Bakey was a 1937 graduate of the former Washington Beauty Academy in Washington, Pa.She was employed by the former Personality Beauty Salon in Waynesburg and was last employed the former My Lady Beauty Salon in Dormont for over 40 years prior to retiring in 1977.On October 19, 1957 she married Ralph Robert Bakey who died April 26, 2000.Surviving are a sister, Margaret Moninger of Aleppo Twp.; a brother, Paul Isiminger of Dearborn, MI.; several nieces and nephews.Deceased in addition to her parents and husband are four brothers, Anon, Jacob, Edison and Roy Isiminger; two sisters, Alma King and Inzie Gray.The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Mt. Carmel Church of God, Shirley Cook, 680 Green Valley Rd., Wind Ridge, Pa. 15380.
