Helen Rogers

Helen Louise Rogers, 75, of Waynesburg, Pa. went home to be with the Lord at 6 p.m. Thursday, July 15, 2010 in her home after a 4 to 5 year battle with a cancer related illness.She was born September 2, 1934 in Waynesburg a daughter of the late Riley Scott and Madaline Lillian Harter Patterson.Mrs. Rogers had resided in the Franklin Twp. area most of her life except for a 10 residence in Center Twp.She enjoyed crossword puzzles and spending time with her family while spoiling her grandchildren and great grandchildren.On November 16, 1963 she married Shirl Marlin Rogers, Sr. who survives.Also surviving are a son, Kevin, husband of Laura Rogers of Wind Ridge; five daughters, K. Gay McMahon of Jefferson, Kathy, wife of William Whitlatch of Sycamore, Kelly, wife of Jerry Tedrow of Hundred, WV., Tamara Reedy and Tonia Renee Segeleon, both of Waynesburg; three brothers, Joseph Patterson of Waynesburg, Ray "Eddie", husband of Esther Patterson of Pittsburgh and Gary, husband of Stephanie Patterson of Greensburg; a sister, Karen Sue, wife of James Phillips of Kirby; 10 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren.Deceased in addition to her parents is a sister, Nellie Funk.The family suggests memorial contributions to your local American Cancer Society or Hospice Care of The Washington Hospital, 155 Wilson Ave., Washington, Pa. 15301.
