Helen T. Leary, 98, of Waynesburg, Pa. and formerly of Holbrook, R.D.#1 died at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 29, 2003 in the Bialko Rest Home, Waynesburg, Pa.She was born February 6, 1905 in Brownsville, Pa. a daughter of John Kimmel and Perry Alice Lindy Thomas.Mrs. Leary had resided in Bucks County all her married life and returned to the Greene County area in 1971.She was a member of the Valley Chapel United Methodist Church where she formerly served as church treasurer and was a former member of the Cornwell's United Methodist Church in Cornwell's Heights.Mrs. Leary was a graduate of Brownsville High School and attended the former Seddon's Business College in Brownsville.She was a member of O.E.S. Chapter 395 in Bristol, Pa., A.A.R.P., and the Polly Wayne Garden Club in Waynesburg, and served as a volunteer with the library for 17 years and was a member of the West Greene Senior Citizens.Mrs. Leary was last employed as the secretary to the high school principal in Bensalem School District for nine years prior to retiring in 1971.On May 13, 1922 she married Karl Leary who died October 29, 1969.Surviving are four grandchildren, Karl Calvin and Frederick Keith Zeth, Karl Steven and Sandy Leary; a great grandson, Arthur Zeth.Deceased in addition to her husband are a daughter, Rheyma L. Zeth Godshall who died January 25, 1998; a son, Karl Stanley Leary who died June 12, 1994; three sisters, Lucy Breil, Emma Hackney and Evelyn Burge; a brother, Stanley Thomas; a granddaughter, Kathy Helen Zeth Thomson who died February 22, 1999.Mrs. Leary was the last of her immediate family. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Eva K. Bowlby Public Library, 311 N. West St., Waynesburg, Pa. 15370.
