Hazel Davis

Hazel K. Davis, 85, of Center Township, Greene County, Pa. died at 2:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 3, 2003 in Beverly Health Care, Waynesburg, Pa.She was born July 29, 1917 in Waynesburg, Pa. a daughter of Russell Ellsworth and Bertha (Dutch) Matilda McMasters Berdine and has resided in Center Township for the past 30 years.Mrs. Davis was Protestant.She enjoyed crocheting, baking and reading her bible as long as her health permitted.Mrs. Davis was last employed as a baker at the former Waynesburg Restaurant.On August 12, 1936 she married Stanley Lee Davis who died in August 1970.Surviving are two daughters, Maria "Chick" Eagle Berry of Carmichaels, Pa. and Helen Smochek of Waynesburg; one sister, Mae Vulgamore of Waverly, Ohio; one brother, John R. Berdine of New Freeport, Pa.; five grandchildren, Jody Smochek, Stanley "Buddy" Phillips, Roberta Jean Phillips Miller, Pawnee Eagle Miller and Kathy Lee Eagle Dingman; eight great grandchildren.Deceased are a son, George William Davis who died June 11, 1973; one grandson, Billy Joe Phillips who died at birth; six brothers, William, Glenn, Guy, Edwin, Leo and Lloyd Berdine; two sisters, Ruth Berdine who died in infancy and Georgie Conard.
