Harry Newton Morris

Harry Newton Morris, age 89, of Holbrook, PA, passed away Thursday, February 22, 2018 at Evergreen Assisted Living, Waynesburg, PA.

Born August 31, 1928 in Jackson Twp., PA, he is son of the late Stoy Edison and Sarah Ann (Rhome) Morris.

Harry was a life long resident of Aleppo and Jackson Twp. He married Martha Jane Riggle on August 17, 1948 and they were happily married for 64 years. Harry worked for various companies such as, Don’s Dozer Service, Alex Parris, and Dunmar Oil & Gas Company for 32 years until he retired in 1993. He was a member of Maranatha Baptist Church. Harry enjoyed raccoon and small game hunting. He was a Jackson Twp. Supervisor for six years until he retired in 1993.

He is survived by two children, Ronald (Bonnie) Morris, of Holbrook, PA, and Linda (Russell) McCollum, of Sycamore, PA; three grandchildren, Stacy Campion, Stephanie McCollum and Michelle Morris; one great-grandchild, Sean Campion; one sister, Betty Jean (Ralph) Weaver, two brothers, Jack and Herman Morris.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Martha Jane Morris, who passed away April 20,2013; three sisters, Vada Pettit, Mabel Crawford and Midge Temple; one great-grandchild at birth, Liam Campion.

Friends will be received on Monday, February 26, 2018 from 4-8 P.M. at Kesterson-Rush Funeral Home, LLC. 3275 W. Roy Furman Hwy., Rogersville, PA 15359. Telephone: 724-499-5181. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home with Rev. Vernon K. Berdine, officiating. Burial will follow at Macedonia Cemetery, Jackson Twp., PA.
