Harold L. Yoss, 83, of Springhill Twp. (Mt. Carmel Ridge), Greene County, Pa. died at 2:40 p.m. Sunday, June 10, 2012 in the Golden Living Center, Waynesburg, Pa. after being in failing health since 2010.He was born July 18, 1928 in Marshall County (Limestone), W.Va. a son of the late Edward Levi and Arbana Marie Coffield Yoss and had resided in Springhill Twp. since 1968.Mr. Yoss was a veteran of the Korean War where he served with the U.S. Army as a private with the 576th Armored FA Battery.He was a self employed dairy farmer most of his life, and was also an employee of the former Marx Toy Factory in Wheeling, W.Va., he was an owner/operator of a Carnation Milk truck, a heavy equipment operator in the construction of the Turkey Run Dam in Viola, W.Va.Mr. Yoss was last employed as a guard at the former Moundsville (W.Va.) State Penitentiary prior to retiring in 1979.On March 26, 1963 he married Minnie Floy Wyckoff who died October 12, 2000.Surviving are his children, twin sons, Danny, husband of Frankie Yoss of Mt. Carmel Ridge and David Yoss of New Freeport, Randall W., husband of Carol Yoss of Mt. Carmel Ridge, Karen, wife of Ralph Soles of Littleton, W.Va., Brenda Yoss Shalenberger of Greensburg; a step daughter, Debra Hostutler of Moundsville, W.Va.; he and his wife also raised two step grandchildren, Danny Debolt of Mt. Hermon, W.VA. and Mylinda Debolt of Moundsville, W.Va.; a foster son, Lloyd Tedrow of Mt. Carmel Ridge; 11 grandchildren; 3 step grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; 7 step great grandchildren; two sisters, Wilda, wife of Paul Becknell of Siho, Ohio and Bernice, wife of Merle Hoobler of Melbourne, Ohio; several nieces and nephews.Deceased in addition to his parents and wife is a daughter, Phyllis Anderson; a step daughter, Dalene Wyckoff Debolt; three brothers, Elmer, Donald and James Yoss; seven sisters, Alda Armstrong, Mary Dale Baird, Freda Mayne, Hazel Kubina, Anna Mae Long, Doris Roller and Estella Owens.
