Harold Leo Dorsey, 79, of East Finley Twp., Washington County, Pa. died Wednesday, January 26, 2005 at 8:01 p.m. in the Washington Hospital, following a lengthy illness.He was born July 8, 1925 in East Finley Twp., a son of Carl Hird and Alva Irene Sprowls Dorsey and had been a resident of East Finley Twp most of his life. Mr. Dorsey was a member of the Fairmount United Methodist Church, in East Finley Twp. He enjoyed hunting, replica car collecting and jigsaw puzzles. He was formerly employed by East Finley Township, the former Kress Box in Washington, Carroll Chevrolet in Claysville, and C. Powell Chevrolet in Washington. He was last employed as a mechanic for Scott Motors in Washington, Pa. for several years prior to retiring in 1987. On July 15, 1947, he married Wilda Jean Elliott Dorsey who survives. Also surviving are three sons, Kenneth, husband of Connie Reis Dorsey, Larry, husband of Dolores Crowe Dorsey, and Donald, husband of Wendy Sloane Dorsey, all of Claysville, Pa.; three daughters, Eleanor J., wife of Frank A. Miller, Kathy, wife of Lloyd B. Brownlee, both of Claysville, and Alma Irene (Sis) Johnson of Amity, Pa.; seventeen grandchildren, Jody, Toby and Bill Johnson, Brian, Chad and Mark Miller, Shannon Maxwell, Carl, Carrie, Jared, Tera, Kevin, Christina and Savannah Dorsey, Tonnie Webb, Denise and David Brownlee; ten great grandchildren; three brothers, Vance L. of East Finley, Ralph E. of Graysville, and Blaine Dorsey of Punxsutawney, Pa.; three sisters, G. Lucille Bedilion of Waynesburg, Hazel Lindley Hillberry of West Alexander, and L. Maxine Reynolds of Claysville, Pa. Deceased are four brothers, Floyd W., Paul R. , Earl N. and C. Gaylord Dorsey.The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Lung Association or to the Fairmount United Methodist Church 120 Fairmount Church Road, West Finley, Pa. 15377.
