Harold L. "Fuzzy" Bowers, 88, of Graysville, Pa. died at 11:23 a.m. Thursday, October 12, 2006 in his home after being in failing health for the past several years.He was born November 2, 1917 in Graysville, Pa., a son of Ralph and Grace Pearl Parson Bowers and had resided in Graysville all of his life.Mr. Bowers had formerly attended Fairview United Methodist Church in Graysville.He was a veteran of World War II, where he served in the U.S. Army as an Technician 4 with Company B 76th Signal Heavy Construction Battalion. He was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, World War II Victory Medal, European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with 2 Bronze Stars, American Campaign Medal, the Asiatic Pacific Theatre Medal and the Philippine Liberation Ribbon. Mr. Bowers was last employed as a pipeline inspector with Columbia Gas for 42 years prior to retiring in March 1984.He was a lifetime member of the Wind Ridge Sportsmen Club and a member of the American Legion Post #0705 in Centerville. He was a hunter, trapper and enjoyed gardening. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steeler fan.On February 19, 1955, he married Millis L. "Mid" Cheek Bowers who survives.Also surviving are three sons, Dave Bowers and Richard Bowers, both of Graysville and Art Morris, husband of Gina Hoge Morris of Waynesburg; five daughters, Bridget Bowers of Wind Ridge, Brandi, wife of Chris Kisner of Aleppo, Louise Clutter of Washington, Peggy Pritt of West Virginia, and Linda Lough of Coraopolis, Pa.; three sisters, Freda Tennant of Roscoe, Pa, Virginia Thomas of Spraggs, and Georgia Lewis of Holbrook; three grandsons, Matt Shuba, Kevin Pritt, and Jake Morris; and one granddaughter, Natasha Clutter.Deceased are two brothers, Edward and John Bowers; four sisters, Wilma Kein, Louise Tharp, Irma Kilgore and Anna Bowers.The family suggests memorial contributions to the charity of your choice.
