Grayce A. O'Connor Woodruff, 86, of Graysville, Pa. R.D.#1 died at 12:50 p.m. Saturday, November 17, 2007 in the Rolling Meadows Nursing Home, Waynesburg, Pa. after a short illness. She was born December 25, 1920 in Springhill Twp. (Deep Valley), Greene Co. Pa. a daughter of Jackson Rexford and Ethel Harriett Moore Wright. Mrs. Woodruff was a graduate of Hundred (W.Va.) high school.She had resided in the Taylorstown (Donegal Twp.) area for over 30 years prior to moving to Morris Twp. Greene Co. in 2003. Mrs. Woodruff was last employed during WW II as one of the few female trolley car operators in Pittsburgh. She enjoyed the time she was able to spend with her family and grandchildren, family genealogy and raising of appaloosa horses with her late husband. On September 25, 1953 she married H. W. "Woody" Woodruff who died October 22, 2005. Surviving are a daughter, Debra, wife of James D. Hewitt of Graysville, Pa. R.D. #1; two step daughters, Cheryl Dianne McAvoy of Clearwater, FL. and Donna Joyce, wife of John Broach of Okmulgee, OK.; one granddaughter, Lacey Lynn Hewitt; five step grandchildren, Danielle Lynn McAvoy Hall, Brenda Cook Williams, Dana Cook Stang, Sonya Cook Willison and Shawna Cook Couch; ten great grandchildren; one great great grandchild. Deceased in addition to her husband, are a daughter, Marcia Jane O'Connor Stein; one son, Patrick John O'Connor; one step grandson, Timothy Odell Cook; one sister, Dorthea Marling; one brother, George B. (Junior) Wright. By request of the deceased there will be no public visitation. Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service to be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 24, 2007 in the Rush Funeral Home, Inc. Rogersville, Pa. with Rev. Carol Adcock officiating. Flowers will not be accepted at the funeral home, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Hospice Care, Inc., The Washington Hospital, 155 Wilson Ave., Washington, Pa. 15301.
