Grace Sauerzopf

Grace K. Sauerzopf, 21, of Claysville, Pa. died unexpectedly Sunday, November 11, 2012 from injuries received in an automobile accident in West Finley Twp., Washington Co. Pa.She was born March 10, 1991 in Columbus, Ohio a daughter of Lois Jean Brown Mahan of Claysville and John Charles Sauerzopf of Jeanette, Pa. and had resided in West Finley Twp. since 2000.Miss Sauerzopf attended the Windy Gap United Presbyterian Church at West Finley.She was a 2009 graduate of McGuffey High School where she participated in the CNA program at Western Career and Technology Center.Miss Sauerzopf also attended Westmoreland Community College and was currently attending Penn Commercial College for medical office training.She was formerly employed by the Washington County Autism Society and was also employed in Washington area restaurants and retail sales.Miss Sauerzopf enjoyed fireworks, driving, and being with her friends.Surviving in addition to her parents are her step-father, Jay Alan Mahan of Claysville; a brother, Avery Mahan at home and a brother, Charles Knerian of Jeanette; maternal grandparents, John and Grace Cumpston Brown of Greensboro; paternal grandparents, Robert and Elizabeth Sauerzopf of Horsehead, NY; paternal step grandmother, Joy Clutter Mahan of West Finley; God-parent, John Looker of Columbus, Ohio; five aunts, Kathy, wife of Robert Hutchison of Jeanette, PA, Peggy, wife of Rick Hall of Holbrook, PA, Jenny, wife of Ivan Robinson III of Greensboro, PA, Sheila Hoge of Dilliner, PA, and Kathy, wife of Jay Yuelling of Lindley, N.Y.; one uncle, Richard Sauerzopf of Lansing, MI; two step aunts, Sue, wife of Mark Truelove of Scott Depot, W.Va. and Bernice, wife of Tom Clark of Washington, PA.; and one step uncle, Dan, husband of Kelli Mahan of Washington, PA.Deceased is her paternal step-grandfather, Roy Mahan.The family suggests memorial contributions be made to your local Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
