Genevieve E. (Jenny) Guy Shadwick, 62, of Waynesburg and formerly of New Freeport, Pa. died unexpectedly at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 19, 2008 in the Southwest Regional Medical Center, Emergency Room, Waynesburg, Pa. She was born March 27, 1945 in Wadestown, W.Va. a daughter of Okey William Snyder, Sr. and Myrtle Marie Kennedy Snyder and had resided in Gasburg, Va., Salem, Oh. and the New Freeport areas for several years prior to moving to Waynesburg in December 2007. Mrs. Shadwick was a member of the Church of God in Littleton, W.Va. and a former member of the New Freeport V.F.D. Ladies Auxilliary. She was a former employee of Salem Covelescent Center in Salem, Oh as a Nurse Aide for seventeen years prior to retiring in 1990 and was self-employed from 1991 until 2007 in home care of the elderly in the New Freeport area. Mrs. Shadwick enjoyed playing yahtzee, rummy, reading, game called "washers" in the community of Garrison and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Surviving are five daughters, Brenda Lee Donley of Lorain, Oh, Evalena M. "Evy" Wise of New Freeport, Teresa V. Barnhart of Graysville, Wanda K., wife of Robert Tousel of Salem, Oh. and Thelma K. , wife of Charles Matthews of Hundred, W.Va.; one son, Robert L. Gray, Jr. husband of Angel Gray of New Kensington; one step son, Gerald, husband of Kathy Guy of Charleston, W.Va.; one brother, Robert Snyder of Seminole, Ok.; fifteen grandchildren; six great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Deceased are her first husband, Gerald Michael Guy who died in May 1969; a former husband, Robert Lee Gray, Sr., died in 1996; her companion of eighteen years, Lloyd Charles Morris, Sr. died in 1992; a grandson, Kevin Jeffrey Guy Duvall II; four sisters, Evelyn McDowell, Ethel Pierce, Florence Lee Bark, and Iona P. Rice; five brothers, Okey W. Snyder, Jr., Ralph, Carl, Arley and Lawrence Snyder.
