Freddie B. "Fred" Yocum, 66, of Claysville, PA. and formerly of Washington died unexpectedly at 9:45 p.m. Tuesday, September 26, 2006 in The Washington Hospital Emergency Room. He was born July 19, 1940 in Wind Ridge, Pa. a son of the late Forest Burdette and Helen Barnhart Yocum.Mr. Yocum lived through his teenage years in Washington (Log Pile) and had resided in Utah, Colorado and Euless, Texas for several years prior to returning to the Claysville area.He was a 1958 graduate of Trinity High School.Mr. Yocum was a former employee of Tri-State Engineering in Washington, Kelly Excavating and Brownlee Trucking, both in West Middletown, Pa. and he was last employed as shop foreman for Johnston-Maco Slumberger in Vernal, Utah.He enjoyed owning and training horses, repairing saddles and was a general all around repairman and maintenance man.Mr. Yocum was first married to Ruth A. Kimble of Claysville and on September 26, 1983, he married Norma Gayle Frick Yocum who died on November 7, 2000.Surviving in addition to his first wife are one son, Bryan Yocum; two daughters, Lorraine, wife of Doug Hodgkiss and Marcia Yocum all of Claysville, Pa.; three grandchildren, Travis and Drew Hodgkiss and Jaycee Yocum.Deceased in addition to his wife and parents are two brothers, Lloyd Yocum who died in infancy and Ronald Yocum.
