Freda Wise

Freda Elizabeth "Betty" Wise, 70, of New Freeport R.D. #1 (Jollytown), died unexpectedly at 8:05 a.m. Wednesday, October 27, 2004 in Monongalia General Hospital, Morgantown, W.Va.She was born April 21, 1934 in Whiteley Twp., Greene County, Pa, the daughter of Franklin Wayne and Dorothy Marie Roberts Zimmerman.Mrs. Wise had resided in Gilmore Township most of her life.She was a 1954 graduate of Waynesburg High School.Mrs. Wise enjoyed farming, raising flowers and served on the Gilmore Twp. Election Board for several years.She was employed by Nickles Bakery, Waynesburg for approximately 20 years prior to retiring in 1998 and was a member of the Bakers Local Union #19 of Cleveland Bakers and Teamsters. On July 8, 1953 she married Robert Leroy Wise who died on December 23, 1988. Surviving are a daughter, Patricia Wise and sons, Thomas L, husband of Donna Popio Wise and Charles R., husband of Brenda Curfman Wise, all of New Freeport R. D. #1; seven grandchildren, Mark, Stephanie, Robbie, Amanda, and Chris Wise, Samantha Slater, and Mikey Hoffman; five great grandchildren; one sister, Martha Ann Long of Waynesburg; two brothers, Francis Zimmerman of Waynesburg and Rick Zimmerman of Warren, Oh. Deceased in addition to her husband are four brothers, Charles, Frank, Arleigh, and Billy Paul Zimmerman. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to your local American Red Cross or Salvation Army.
