Freda Guthrie

Freda B. Guthrie, 93, of Wind Ridge, Pa. died at 6:17 p.m. Sunday, February 22, 2009 in the Cameron Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Cameron, W.Va.She was born March 22, 1915 in Marshall Co. W.Va. a daughter of John Herman and Alta Pettit Cunningham.Mrs. Guthrie had resided in the Richhill Twp. (Ryerson Station) and the Wind Ridge areas since 1929 and was a homemaker and partner on the family farm as long as her health permitted.She enjoyed reading, sewing, needle work and playing card games.Mrs. Guthrie was a member of the former South Wheeling Baptist Church at Ryerson Station.On May 4, 1929 she married Raymond Howard "Bud" Guthrie who died August 8, 1992.Surviving are five daughters, Mildred Allen of Dunbar, W.Va., Betty, wife of Fred Dishman of Glen Dale, W.Va., Shirley, wife of Jesse Gray of Salem, Ohio, Marlene, wife if Phillip Campbell, Sr. and Deanna, wife of Keith Hooker all of Wind Ridge, Pa.; one sister, Eileen Hill of Cameron, W.Va.; 16 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.Deceased in addition to her parents and husband are a son, Charles E. Guthrie; a daughter, Norma Fox; a granddaughter, Rebecca Allen.The family suggests memorial contributions be made to either the Ryerson South Wheeling Baptist Church, c/o 104 Mudlick Rd., Wind Ridge, Pa. 15380 or the charity of your choice.
