Frances Church

Miss Frances E. Church, 82, of Waynesburg and formerly of Rogersville, Pa. died at 6:00 a.m. Friday, November 2, 2007 in the Southwest Regional Medical Center, Waynesburg, Pa. after being seriously ill for the past week. She was born November 9, 1924 in Center Twp., Greene Co., Pa. a daughter of Allan Elijah and Goldie May Mitchell Church and had resided in the Center Twp. area most of her life and Rogersville from 1926 prior to moving to Waynesburg in 1988. Miss Church was a 1941 graduate of Center Twp. High School and was a member of the Rogersville United Methodist Church where she was the Sunday school treasurer and a former Sunday school teacher. She was formerly employed as a part time clerk with the Rogersville Post Office for approximately 10 years. Miss Church was a member and past president of the Woman's Christian Temperance Union in Waynesburg and a member and former secretary of the Keystone Senior Citizens of Greene County. Surviving are several cousins. She was the last of her immediate family. Friends will be received from 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday in the Rush Funeral Home, Inc., Rogersville, Pa. where services will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, November 4, 2007 with Rev. William Parker officiating. Interment will follow in Rosemont Cemetery, Center Twp., Greene Co., Pa.
