Faye Hunnell

Faye Grimes Hunnell, 91, of Holbrook, Pa., went to her heavenly home at 6:25 p.m., Tuesday, February 18, 2014, surrounded by her family, after being seriously ill for the past month. She was born April 7, 1922 in Jackson Twp., (near Pine Bank), Greene County, Pa., a daughter of the late Earl Bern and Rachel Jane Jones Stockdale and had resided in Jackson Twp. all her life. Mrs. Hunnell attended the former Mt. Zion Methodist Church at Bluff as a child, and had been an active member and office holder at the Valley Chapel United Methodist Church for the past several years. She attended the former Jackson Twp. Oak Shade Elementary School and while residing with her uncle Frank Jones attended the former Waynesburg High School. Mrs. Hunnell was a loving mother and homemaker, and was employed as a waitress at the former Myrtle's Townhouse Restaurant in Waynesburg in the early 1960's, and had served on the Jackson Twp. Election Board for several years. On July 1, 1941 she married Halfred Byron Grimes who died on July 17, 1976 and on August 8, 1983 she married Charles Lewis Hunnell who died August 8, 1987. Surviving are two sons, H. Terry, husband of Carlyn Grimes, Charles Leroy (Bugsy), husband of Reneee Grimes and a daughter-in-law, Linda Grimes, all of Holbrook, Pa.; eight grandchildren, Kathy, wife of Steve Cummings, Lori Beth, wife of Sam Blaney, Autumn Grimes, companion of Eric Hoyt, Mark, husband of Janice Grimes, Jeffry, husband of Kimberley Grimes, Charles, ?Chip? Grimes, Ian, husband of Amanda Grimes and Peter, husband of Lisa Grimes; ten great grandchildren; one great-great grandson; a step-son, Charles Hunnell of Oak Forest; several nieces and nephews. A special appreciation and acknowledgement for her caregiver for the past year, Cindy Jones, and other recent caregivers, Pattie, Amy, Joy and Dee. Deceased in addition to her parents and husbands are a son, Roger Wayne Grimes who died February 9, 2002; a great granddaughter, Rachel Blaney; a brother, Wayne Stockdale; two sisters, Violet Gilbert and Lavonna Lewis Loughman.
