F. Bowman

F. Earl Bowman, 86, of West Finley, Pa. died at 11:00 p.m. Saturday, October 5, 2013 with his loving family by his side after being in failing health for the past several years.He was born June 4,1927 in West Finley Twp., Washington Co., Pa., a son of the late Lester Henry and Mary Florence Kennedy Bowman and has resided in the West Finley area all of his life.Mr. Bowman was a 1946 graduate of the former West Alexander High School and attended West Liberty (W.Va.) College for two years.He was a member of the First Christian Church in West Alexander, Pa.Mr. Bowman was a member and has served as the treasurer of the West Finley Volunteer Fire Company for the past 24 years.He loved farming, gardening, raising the flowers, feeding the hummingbirds, taking care of his dogs and practicing reflexology.Mr. Bowman was employed for 12 years by the former First National Bank in West Alexander, Pa., and was later employed in maintenance and security for seven years by the former Wheeling Machine Products in Elm Grove, W.Va., prior to retiring in 1974. Following retirement, he was employed for 5 years by the former Heinrich Funeral Home in Claysville, Pa. . On March 29, 1952 he married Kathrine Louise Milliken who died on March 12, 2013.Surviving are two daughters; Martha L., wife of William Beverlin of Dallas, W.Va., and Cathy J., wife of Stephen Emery of West Finley, Pa.; four grandchildren and four great grandchildren.Deceased in addition to his wife and parents is a sister, Mary Ethel Hughes.The family request memorial contributions be made to the West Finley Volunteer Fire Co., 908 Majorsville Rd., West Finley, Pa, 15377.
